With its relaxing environment and variety of workshops on offer, guests may decide to make Evergreen Guesthouse the start and end point of their trip.
However, Evergreen is also the perfect base for exploring the surrounding region. Just a few of these places of interest are listed below. Suren and Jonathan would be delighted to provide visitors with personal recommendations as well.
Paris – direct trains to the French capital depart from nearby Vernon-Giverny station every hour and take approximately 50 minutes.
Vernon – a 8-minute drive from Evergreen on the banks of the River Seine, this small historic town full of pretty half-timber houses is a great spot for daytime sightseeing including Chateau de Bizy and the Musée Alphonse-Georges Poulain.
Rouen – once the second largest city in France after Paris, Rouen is a 50-minute drive from Evergreen and home to the most impressive gothic-style Notre Dame Cathedral painted by Monet.
Giverny – only a 5-minute drive or 15 mins walk from Evergreen, Giverny is most well-known for Claude Monet’s House and Gardens
Chateau de Bizy – Supposedly the ‘Versailles of Normandy’, this grand chateau and ex-royal residence sits on the outskirts of Vernon featuring extensive grounds, charming sculptures and fountains.
Le chateau de La Roche Guyon, Chateau Gaillard, Domaine de Villarceaux … and many others are easely accessible from Evergreen.
Wildlife
If you love being in nature, you couldn’t hope for a more natural location, with lots of wildlife to spot whether you are on your bike or on foot.
Evergreen Guesthouse is surrounded by several national parks and reserves. The PARC NATUREL RÉGIONAL DU VEXIN FRANÇAIS. It is one of the largest national forests in France with over 71,000 hectares of wilderness, trails and forest. There are more than 28 kilometers of bike trails and walking paths. Right behind our house you can access the forest and within 2 mins walk you have l’Epte and La Seine.
All of these parks guarantee an abundance of bird and wildlife surrounding Evergreen, with approximately 57 types of birds a visitor would most likely encounter during their stay in the area.
Some of the birds around Evergreen Guesthouse are the Great Tit, Coal Tit, Blue Tit, Marsh Tit and Long Tail Tit, as well Magpies, Jays, Green Woodpeckers, Robins, Gold Finch, Black Redstarts and the Tawny Owl.
